Make the uncertainty
part of the picture.

Explore which assumptions control the proposed mirror measurement—and why more readings alone may not be enough.

WHAT THE MODEL ASSUMES

More samples cannot
erase every uncertainty.

The optical and calibration allocations are 3% and 5% of force. Electrical, gas and mechanical allocations are 0.08 nN each. The default thermal allocation is 0.15 nN. Statistical uncertainty is the stated per-block standard deviation divided by √N, assuming independent, settled blocks.

U = 2 √[Σ uᵢ² + 2ρ uthermal umechanical]
Changing the sliders explores a design budget; it does not qualify an apparatus or revise the commissioning protocol. Correlated drift can invalidate √N improvement. A coverage factor of 2 is not automatically an exact 95% confidence interval. The current written protocol remains Draft 08.

A material model is a starting point. A prediction earns confidence through measurement, controls and independent review.
