The name
Metric Flight connects geometry and measurement with an ambition for transport. It can encompass instruments, simulations and later propulsion components without tying the company to an unverified single mechanism.
Metric Flight is the selected name, with metricflight.com as its web address. A limited exact-name web search is not trademark clearance or entity registration; neither is claimed by this website.

What we can develop before a vehicle
01 / Research and model tooling
Begin with open educational tools and a carefully scoped evidence atlas. A future commercial model could support custom engineering studies only after specialist capacity, model validation and a defined customer need are in place.
02 / Force instrumentation and analysis
A qualified force platform could eventually support measurement fixtures, calibration workflows and analysis software. The first customer question is whether it resolves a specific problem that existing instruments or laboratories do not address well.
03 / Validated components and sponsored research
If the experiments demonstrate a useful component-level function, investigate co-development and application-specific licensing. Possibilities include optical structures, force-sensing interfaces or thermal-force characterization. These are development routes, not products currently available for order.
04 / Transport applications
A complete propulsion system comes after independent reproduction, whole-system performance and mission analysis. Small spacecraft are a plausible comparison context for very low forces; no current force measurement supports a Metric Flight vehicle design.
A first customer-learning program
- Interview instrument teams, spacecraft researchers and micro/nanofabrication groups about one costly measurement or modeling bottleneck.
- Ask for the current workflow, required uncertainty, alternative supplier and acceptance criterion.
- Choose one deliverable that can be qualified with existing physics and available specialist skills.
- Price only after a scoped technical design and cost estimate. Do not sell access to an unverified drive.
Company formation checklist
Choose the jurisdiction and legal structure; clear the name and domains; document founder and contributor rights; obtain implementation-specific intellectual-property advice; and establish data, contracting and financial controls. The website does not determine those legal decisions or imply regulatory approval.
What earns the next commitment
Technical funding follows a model and instrument design gate. Product funding follows a validated capability and customer requirement. Expansion follows independent replication and a clear account of manufacturing, reliability and support costs.
