MF-01 / Instrument concept

A force has a context.

SELECT A FUNCTION

Make force observable.

A compliant mechanical system converts force into a measurable displacement or restoring signal. Its geometry, payload and response must be selected around the intended measurement.

Required evidence: calibration, transfer function, repeatability and drift over the declared bandwidth.

A drawing is the beginning of the specification.

The enclosure, readout and balance shown here illustrate functions rather than a selected engineering design. The next design review must set force range, payload, operating environment, required uncertainty, calibration access and heat-management limits.
