CHAPTER 08 / UNVALIDATED COMPANY HYPOTHESIS

A hypothesis earns
its next experiment.

Inspect Alpha 1’s proposed field model, unresolved coupling, momentum accounting and requirements before any spacecraft or hardware claim.

Start with a defined interaction

Alpha 1 is Metric Flight’s proposed field hypothesis. The current formulation relates a scalar field to an effective source coupling and a test-body response. It is not, by itself, a derivation of a spacetime metric or a demonstrated method of controlling gravity.

The central open input is physical coupling: what measurable state produces the source term, how large is that term and how does the test body respond? Until that mapping is defined, apparatus predictions remain conditional on assumed parameters.

CURRENT DISPOSITION

Hardware hold.

Physical coupling and constraints must be resolved before apparatus claims. Optical success does not clear this separate gate.

Close the system before claiming thrust

A force between source and test body is not automatically propulsion of their combined platform. If both are mounted on the same assembly, their internal interaction belongs inside the system boundary. An external momentum exchange or a rigorously defined field momentum balance is required.

Any new force claim must also survive ordinary explanations: electrostatics, magnetism, radiation pressure, thermal recoil, gas effects, vibration and forces through wiring. A small unexplained signal is a reason to improve the measurement, not an immediate validation of a preferred theory.

The hold is a decision gate

The Alpha 1 hardware branch remains on hold while a physically specified coupling and its compatibility with existing constraints are unresolved. Advancing the optical reference program does not automatically clear that gate. The optical benchmark and the new-field hypothesis answer different questions.

A useful next contribution is a derivation with units, boundary conditions and a falsifiable prediction, or a constraint analysis that rules out part of the parameter space. A null result or a failed model can be progress if it removes an unsupported route before hardware is ordered.

Questions worth asking

Is Alpha 1 the halo drive?

No. Alpha 1 is a company field hypothesis. The halo drive is David Kipping’s separate gravitational photon-exchange proposal.

Does a successful mirror-force test validate Alpha 1?

No. It validates a conventional force measurement under the tested conditions, not a new interaction.
