Training supports competence; performance demonstrates it.
NIST lists its Fundamentals of Metrology seminar for 13–17 September 2027 in Gaithersburg, with a $3,100 fee and a 5 July 2027 registration deadline. Travel, lodging and meals are extra; participation needs confirmation. The broad introductory course covers uncertainty, traceability and laboratory practices. It is not a nanonewton-balance qualification or a proven minimum sufficient preparation.
The founder’s practical record should demonstrate calibration, geometry, settling, drift, covariance, nuisance controls and competent apparatus operation. Course attendance, publication and apparatus performance are separate evidence items. None is recorded as completed.
Read the small-team precedent accurately.
Chen and Pan report 4.9 ± 0.4 nN against a 5 nN prediction using an ITRI facility and a 0.75 W optical modulation. Their paper’s final section describes gravitational calibration as future work. Two listed authors do not establish the resources or skills needed by a novice working alone. We do not assign a coverage factor to their quoted interval without further justification.
Audit the number, not just the citation.
Every source record exposes its recorded read status. This build exports those states and adds a dedicated Chen–Pan record with checked sections and limitations. It does not mark the entire catalog fully read. For each numerical design claim, record the source passage, units, conditions, uncertainty definition and applicability to MF-01.
The current Monte Carlo uses 100,000 draws per power point across four points—400,000 total, not the review’s 200,000-draw description. It checks an assumed seven-term model, not measured distributions. Existing source and nuisance-bound gaps stay visible.
