FOUNDING SCIENTIST PROGRAM

The scientific mission

Build a result that can survive an independent attempt to disprove it.

Start with established physics

The first program measures conventional optical momentum before attempting an unfamiliar mechanism. Begin with low-power optical accounting: incident, reflected, transmitted and scattered light, with angular information and remount checks. Then qualify an independently calibrated force or torque instrument. Higher optical power follows the safety and thermal assessment, rather than a headline target.

The first experiment

The proposed MF-01 torsion geometry uses optical forces at opposite lever arms. The torque sign can change while the force direction stays the same. The experiment must preserve that distinction in its model and analysis. State ordering can reduce some drift; it cannot automatically remove state-dependent heating.

  • Design: define the observable, full-system momentum balance and acceptance rule.
  • Qualify: establish calibration, noise, settling, thermal and environmental behavior.
  • Run: freeze controls and analysis after pilot characterization; preserve raw data.
  • Review: report residuals with uncertainty, replicate across re-established sessions and decide whether to revise, stop or advance.

Keep the programs distinct

A1EM concerns conventional electromagnetic momentum. A1Y is a hypothetical interaction that needs a physically defined coupling and a falsifiable prediction. A conventional optical-force result would not validate A1Y. A useful negative result can eliminate an unproductive path and improve the program.

Build owned capability

The proposed team will define an owned apparatus and the facilities, procurement, maintenance and staffing it requires. No borrowed laboratory, operational facility, institutional partner or launch opportunity is promised. Location and start dates will be settled with funded appointments.
